The Great Info Hunt
First things first — figure out what the heck the client wants. Who's this for? What's the vibe? Get their weird Pinterest boards, napkin sketches, fever dream ideas—whatever.
Internet Stalking (the Legal Kind)
Go check out what the competition is brewing. Browse around sites in the same niche, jot down ideas, steal inspiration (not the actual kind, relax). Create a sitemap—technical term for "list of pages so you don't miss something obvious." Decide on your technical tools: WordPress, Wix, Squarespace, duct tape, sheer determination—whatever.
Ugly Sketches, AKA Wireframes
Time for some horrid sketches. Like, really ugly ones. Just menu blocks, image boxes, for anything you haven't sorted out. Don't even worry about design yet. Ensure it is functional on phones, tablets, possibly even smart devices.
Make it Pretty (UI/UX)
Now you get to have fun with colors, fonts, logos—the whole "brand" thing. Normally, just do the home page and a few main pages initially. If the client's allergic to teal or dislikes comic sans, better to know that before you've painted the entire house.
Stuffing the Site (Content Time)
Dump all the text , images , videos , articles , memes —whatever makes it work. Keep all the words, images, and videos fresh and on-brand. Also remember some of your standard SEO enhancements: page titles, meta descriptions, alt text. Google and Readers will love it.
Smash Things (Testing)
Launch the site on all devices on your home network: laptop, phone, tablet. Click buttons, fill out forms, attempt to find obstacles. Squash bugs before the client does and freak out.
Client Review & Feedback
Send the client a testing link. Wait for feedback. Change what they dislike, adjust. Trust me, it's much simpler now than after the site goes live.
Deployment (Go Live 🚀)
Point the domain. Install all the geeky stuff: Hosting, SSL, backups. Push launch button and ensure your domain url is ready to view live now.
Post-Launch Support & Maintenance
Our service doesn't end with launch. We'll provide bug fixes, updates, and optimization. We will also actively observe your site to verify that it remains functional.
